We had an awesome showing last year and hope we can build have a huge group again this year (the more the merrier...THAT'S what it's ALL about)!
What a team!! |
Our little Down Syndrome Diva continues to amaze, impress and inspire us each and every day! In this short 20 months, she has taught us and everyone around her so much about life, love, compassion and faith. It is hard to believe how this one tiny extra chromosome can make such a dramatic impact on our hearts!
Not only are we, her parents, blessed to have been chosen to care for and love this little angel...but God has placed her in all of your lives as well. She has an amazing support system of family and friends in all of you, for that she is truly blessed!Oh and she's WALKING!!!! Yep, she's a ROCKSTAR...So we may not even need the stroller for her this year. hehe :-)

When? Saturday, October 15th, 2010 9:00 am is when the fun activities begin - 11:00 is when the walk begins :-)
Where? University of Nebraska Omaha - The mile & a half walk will start at UNO, take us through Elmwood Park, over the Dodge Street pedestrian bridge, around Memorial Park and back.
How? Donate. Walk with us. If you want to "walk" on Macy's team please let me know soon as we are going to once again have special shirts made (email me at sharnisch1@gmail.com before August 30th - we need plenty of time to get the shirts ordered), they will be $10 each - let me know the sizes needed. We plan to order the exact same (turquoise blue) color, so if you just want to sport last years' "t" that's cool too...just let us know!
If you are unable to walk with us, please at least consider making a donation on Macy's behalf. We have a hefty goal of $1,500 that, with your help, we hope to achieve.
Why? All of the money raised goes to the Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands. This organization brings education, programs, activities and awareness to all of us. It helps bring opportunities to Macy and her wonderful friends that otherwise wouldn’t exist. Joe and I have met so many wonderful families who are on this very same journey, for this we are extremely grateful! No donation is too small, anything you can contribute to this amazing network would be greatly appreciated. *Remember, these donations are TAX-DEDUCTIBLE, both business or personal*
