We had a fun and very relaxing Fourth of July Weekend.
The usual: food, fun, family, fireworks and the lake.
Tailgatin' with the fam, waitin' for the big 'ole Rosenblatt Fireworks to begin.
Erika, you are too funny!
Oh Dylan, you are just soo cool.
Nice face Joe. The fireworks have started! McKenzie LOVED them - for 2 minutes anyway before she fell asleep, it was WAAAY past her bedtime. haha
The Big Boys lighting off some fireworks out at the lake. It was a sprinkly, overcast day. We went for a boat ride, but did not do too much swimming. Just hung out and ate (ate WAAY too much) :-(
These big "lantern type" firework thingy's are really cool!
Here's another look as it floats further and further away.
Watching more fireworks "high in the sky" as McKenzie would say. Anna is in the background cuddling with her momma :-)
All-in-all it was a wonderful Fourth of July. I love everything about the holiday, especially the part where we recognize and celebrate our FREEDOMS...with the exception of fireworks. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the big displays that the professionals put on, but I am a grinch when it comes to watching kids and amateur adults playing with fireworks. I pretty much give myself an anxiety attack just watching form a distance. uggggh :-( Makes me SOOO nervous!
