The Big Splash!

Yesterday Jaeme, Harper, Macy and I attended Munroe Meyer Institute's 2nd annual BIG SPLASH event in hopes of selling a few more of our ODSPN calendars. My former boss, Joleen - President of SKAR Advertising, and her son Jason were featured on KMTV's The Morning Blend. They spoke of their experience last year and what to expect this year, etc...great job Jason!! :-)
We have already been exposed to a small fraction of research and support from MMI since Macy was born, but I know that in the months and years to come we will benefit greatly from their vast array of programs, services, research, therapies and educational opportunities. We are lucky to have this amazing Institution so close to home!

We didn't sell too many calendars, but that's okay. It was fun to be there. And it was fun chatting with Jaeme and playing with her cutie pie, Harper :-)

USA Olympic Gold Medalist, Misty Hyman spoke and swam at the event. She delivered a wonderful and motivating speech.

Jason just got done swimming his 100 freestyle event. He did an awesome job and finished strong. The whole crowd was cheering loud for him. It was neat to see Barb jump in the pool at the end of his race to give him a big congratulatory hug...Of course, Macy wanted her picture taken with him! :-)

My friend Mary's son Daniel swam today. He was smitten by Macy and was trying hard to get a smile out of her. What a sweet and kind boy!

Shortly after the morning swim event wrapped up, participants and their families were invited over to Rockbrook pool for a PARTY!

Elizabeth and Buffy took over and manned the Calendar table, braving the hot-hot-SUN! Way to go gals, you outsold us by 300%...what's your secret?!? :-)

Our Little Miss Macy's a COVER GIRL! :-)

I was tickled pink when I saw this the other day. How exciting! There are 47 Omaha area Down Syndrome Super Stars featured in this calendar. I can't WAIT to see it when it is completed, great work guys and thanks again to Casie and her father Russ, of Regal Photography, for contributing your time and talent!

p.s. - I will be accepting orders for more calendars through this week. It's not too late to get one for your home or office :-) I just need your $15.00 before this Thursday (8.26)...let me know!
