"Oh The Places She Will Go"!

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND WE HAVE HAD...FRIDAY, WE WENT TO MY FRIEND HEATHER'S SURPRISE 30TH B-DAY PARTY AT FOX & HOUND. THANKS TO G&G HARNISCH FOR WATCHING THE KIDDOS SO THAT WE COULD ENJOY
THE EVENING WITH FRIENDS! WE FINISHED OUT OUR SATURDAY BY GOING TO JEREMY'S 30TH B-DAY PARTY ('TIS THE SEASON FOR THE BIG 3-0!). OUR NIECE ERIKA WATCHED MCKENZIE AND MACY. IT WAS SOO CUTE HOW EXCITED SHE WAS TO GIVE UP HER SATURDAY NIGHT SOCIAL LIFE TO SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH HER FAVORITE NIECES :-) WHAT A GREAT GIRL!

SUNDAY, FAMILY FUNDAY!
STARTED OFF WITH NEPHEW DYLAN'S FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AT CHURCH. WAY TO GO BUDDY! THEN OFF TO THE WITT RESIDENCE TO CELEBRATE DYLAN'S MILESTONE, ALONG WITH HIS BROTHER DALTON'S 5TH
BIRTHDAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DALTON! :-)

WE BROUGHT COUSIN ANNA HOME WITH US TO PLAY AND HAVE A SLEEPOVER. THEY PLAYED FOR A
FEW HOURS BUT CRASHED PRETTY HARD WITH UNCLE JOE WHILE WATCHING VEGGIETALES :-)
UNFORTUNATELY THE SLEEPOVER ENDED EARLY AS ANNA BEGAN FEELING SICK AND YEARNING FOR HER MOMMY. POOR THING HAD A YUCKY COUGH, RUNNY NOSE AND ITCHY EYES :-(
We have been advised by Macy's pediatrician to keep her out of illnesses way. Of course, any parent of a newborn should do the same, however, due to her Down Syndrome, she is especially prone to sickness. No need to take any chances. Better to be safe than sorry! Sorry Kenzie :-(

************
I stumbled across this sweet poem a few moments ago out there in "blogosphere". I thought I'd take the liberty to change out a several things to customize it for our little Miss Macy. :-)

OH THE PLACES SHE WILL GO!
We are very excited to share our journey
with Little Miss Macy Lee.
She surprised us on December 28th
three weeks early.
A sweet, precious and perfect gift
from our Lord up above,
We welcome her into our lives
with Much Joy and Endless Love.

Fearfully and wonderfully made
By our God in heaven,
Instead of 46 chromosomes,
He gave her 47.
Known as Down Syndrome,
Or Trisomy 21,
The blessings Macy will bring us
Have only just begun.

We share this news with you Not out of sadness or despair, But so you will know,
and so you can pray,
And because we know you care.
Macy, though special,
Is like any little girl.
Just needing a little extra help
To make it in this world.

We are tickled pink to have Macy,
And can’t wait to watch her grow.
We will watch with amazement at
The Places She Will Go!

  1. 'And the places she will go indeed!' I am blessed to be her aunt among so many other sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and get to share those places with her.

  5. I don't know you, but this poem is really beautiful!!! I'm a RN and am back in school to further my education. I'm hoping to be a NICU nurse, and am doing a clinical in a local NICU. Today was my first day, and I took care of a very sweet baby girl with Trisomy-21. I fell in love! So, blessings to you & your family as your Macy is about 1.5 years old! She's lucky to have such positive and joyful parents!
